Animated Logo Solution
Overview
Summer of 2019 I was offered a Social Media/Marketing Internship with the Contra Costa Community College District. It was an exciting opportunity to get practical experience and expand my marketing knowledge.
As the internship was only a few months, I wanted to make sure my work would be useful to the department in the long run. I decided to create a simple animated version of the organization logo to use in video content.
Process
The first challenge was to recreate the logo in its component parts. The organization kept records of most of the color and font information, but the script/serif font was missing. I substituted a font that was comprable.
The Pantone colors of course had to be converted to RGB for this project.
Another problem was making aspect ratios of the logo for different applications, including mobile and social media. Cropping the composition in AfterEffects was simple enough, but the timing of each element’s movment had to be adjusted because the edge of the format was in a different place.
